Gonna fly now

Sitting in the Emirates lounge wondering what my life will be like in the Netherlands. I'm flying off to a new country where I will have no friends besides my best friend and lovely wife Penny.

Time for me to figure out who I am and where I want to go with my life. Plus enjoy the life of living in Europe and being close to so many countries. I will have to visit some friends abroad as well. Kat, Tina and Herman, Graham, Rachel, Jan and Hilda, Manu. Seems it's a small world with all these friends so close.

But what will I do while I'm away? Hope to find a job with a Crossfit gym, but happy to do anything.

Well off I go.

Pack Mule

We started packing some of our clothes for our trip to the Netherlands today. For a 6 month stay going from hot weather to cold, what does one pack? The good thing is you know you won't need any cold weather gear before you leave, but you can't pack all of your cold gear. This is due to us spending a few days in Amsterdam before making it to our final destination of Enschede. We will certainly need some warm clothes when we get off the plane.

Then I have to think about the weight limit of how much we can actually take with us without paying extra for baggage. This is where my Christmas present of a luggage scale comes in handy. I've got one full bag already filled to the limit. I have a few items left to put in another bag, but this depends on what Penny has left to put and how much weight she already has in her two bags.

I will have to take somethings out in which I don't think I will be using. This is the hard part is I don't know what I will be doing for work while in the Netherlands. Leave behind some polo shirts, T-shirts, cold weather items, workout gear (no way, I will definitely workout), weight lifting shoes, five fingers, massage tools?

So here we are with our final day making some decision that will affect the next six months, but there is nothing to stress about as our adventure is about to start! Stay tuned for the next step, Amsterdam!
